# Keep the test result next to what actually ran

Zerocheck keeps the test, its step screenshots and its errors together, so an engineer can explain a browser test result.

After a release, someone asks what was tested. Someone else assembles screenshots and job output, then tries to reconstruct the steps and the environment.

With Zerocheck, you open the run and see the YAML that ran, the environment and the result of each step. A CLI run record doesn't carry the repository, branch or commit, so note what the environment was serving.

These are useful engineering records. Whether one satisfies an audit is a separate question, for the people responsible for that review.

## How to do it in Zerocheck

1. Write a test with a specific expected browser outcome.
2. Open the run in the web app to see each step, its screenshots and any errors.
3. Use the CLI's JSON output when another process needs the run record.
4. Let the responsible reviewer decide how the record fits their own process.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Zerocheck produce SOC 2 evidence packages?

No. It provides browser test results. It doesn't map controls, certify compliance or provide an audit evidence export.

### Is there a recording for every run?

Screenshots are captured before and after each step. A recording is available when the test uses no configured credentials.
